In the lovely Douro region, family “quinta” (farm) with 13 ha that has maintained the production of the famous Port and Douro wines for more than four generations. The owners speak english, french and italian.
Guest Accommodation
The original house, built in the XVII century, was a Franciscan Convent. Actually its most part was renovated, being integrated in the official Portuguese Agrotourism. It has a sitting room, 4 bedrooms, a medieval kitchen, wine cellar, lagares, and a wine shop selling the products of the Quinta.
The style is rustic, the house is in schistous rock. It is decorated with old furnitures, it has central heating, the bedrooms possess private bathroom.
Weekends at the Holding
Quinta de Marrocos invites you to discover one of the prominent Douro quintas, its history, vines and vineyards layout, climate, its traditions, rich gastronomy, and to take part in grafting, training, pruning, harvesting, and wine production. In other words, a stay at Marrocos is the best way to experience the life of a lively Quinta.
Wine tasting
Simple taste — Port wines and Douro wines are served at the desire of the guests.
Normal taste — In addition to the wines, cheese and sausages are also served.
Taste with a snack — In addition to the wines, cheese and sausages, bacon, beef and mutton, and traditional cakes and sweets are served
Douro Harvest
The harvest takes place in September/October and at our Quinta usually the picking of grapes lasts for about 3 weeks. It is a lively occasion for the visitors to get involved in the gathering of grapes, the foot trodden in the lagares (vats), the vinification, the “virgin” tastes, the feasts celebrating it.
Do not loose this occasion, and for short durations (minimum 7h), the visitor can also have a meal, a cellar’s visit and a traditional wine tasting. Nº Min. Pax – 10; Nº Max Pax - 50

Menu 1 — Aperitifs; Soup; Marrocos codfish; sweets and fruits; coffee; quinta wines.
Menu 2 — Aperitifs; Soup; Marrocos pork chops; sweets and fruits; coffee; quinta wines.
Buffet — apart from the wines, sausages, we include salty meat, bacon, poultry, roast kid and beef, sardines, roast potatoes, Marrocos rice pot, sweets, fruits and coffee.
Visits
The visits include the wine cellars, lagares, vine and vineyards.
Visitors are welcomed through all the year, between 10-12h and 14-18h every day.

Production, aging and bottling of wines.
Visits to the farm, as well as pedestrian walks all along the left border of Douro river.
The farm spreads out to the Douro river, so swimming and fishing is possible.
Occasional sessions of traditional cooking like making puddings and sweets.
